Learn from Home with Morningstar Tutorial Videos

Looking for a simple overview of Morningstar Investment Research Center? If you’re unable to attend a monthly live training session, Morningstar's Tutorial Center is a great place to start.

You must have a Niles Library card to access this resource.

Go to www.nileslibrary.org/research. When prompted, enter your library barcode. Select Financial & Public Records. Choose
Morningstar Investment Research Center at the bottom of the page. At the Morningstar home page, click the Help & Education tab and select the Database Guides column, which includes a link to the Tutorial Center. These short instructional videos will provide you with a step-by-step overview of the database and its valuable tools. Please feel free to contact libraryservices@morningstar.com if you have any questions after reviewing the tutorials.
Morningstar also offers monthly training webinars the first Thursday of each month at 11:00 a.m. Central Time.

World Languages Celebration at the Niles Public Library

Have fun at the library and learn what the library has for you. Enjoy activities and refreshments for the whole family. Take a guided tour of the library with a certified interpreter from the ELL (English Language Learner) Parent Center in Skokie. Interpreted tours will be offered in Polish, Spanish, Gujrati, Hindi, Urdu, Russian, Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian, and Korean languages.

Sixth Annual Low Vision Fair

Sat., September 22, 2012 10am-1:30pm

To be held at the Niles Senior Center located across the street from the library.

The Niles Public Library District, along with six other area libraries, is hosting the Sixth annual Low Vision Fair.  Featured speaker, Dr. Stephen M. Conti, Retina Specialist, will talk about macular degeneration and other eye diseases that cause low vision.  Glaucoma screening will be available.  Vendors selling assistive technology will be present along with social service agencies.

This fair offers practical information for people with low vision.  There is no prior registration necessary and no charge for admission.  Light refreshments will be served.
