We Have eBooks!

A new study, Libraries, Patrons, and e-books done by the Pew Research Center found that many Americans do not know that libraries have eBooks.  They found that 62% of the people asked didn't know that eBooks may be borrowed from libraries and only 12% of readers borrowed an eBook from the library in the last year.

You can check out eBooks from home with your Niles Public Library card through My Media Mall. The eBooks are compatible with the Sony Reader, Nook, Kindle, iPad, and many other eReaders and tablets available.

There are also apps available for many mobile devices:
Android via Google Play
iPhone/iPad via iTunes
Windows Phone
Blackberry via Blackberry App World

If you need individual help with checking out eBooks from the library, submit the eBook Help Form and we will contact you to make an appointment.

Supreme Court Website now mobile friendly

The Supreme Court doesn’t allow proceedings to be televised or devices in the courtroom, but according to the Washington Post, it has an active web site. WP reported the site, “will now detect the mobile device being used and will automatically adjust the display based on the screen size and orientation.” “This website enhancement will make the court’s site easier to read on a mobile device and improve user navigation on the site.”  Could a SCOTUS App be in our future?
